Fisterra y Muxía – extension of the Camino de Santiago
Fisterra y Muxía (Finisterre and Mugía) are two towns on the Atlantic Ocean west of Santiago de Compostela. Both cities are located on the Costa da Morte (Coast of Death)). This is quite a popular way to extend the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage. The most popular target is Finisterra, whose name means End of Earth. The road to both Muxia and Fisterra begins in Santiago de Compostela. For 2 days, the pilgrimage runs along the common Route Camino de Finisterra. It is only on the 3rd day that we get to the fork in Fisterra or Muxia. I chose the option to get to Muxia first and then to get to…

Tour du Mont Blanc – what is the cost, what to bring to TMB?
Tour du Mont Blanc (TMB), a several-day trekking around the Mont Blanc massif. The route leads through 3 countries – Italy, France and Switzerland, has about 170 kilometers, and the sum of elevations reaches 10,000m. I described the whole expedition from August 2020 and the route in this post. There you will find descriptions of individual days, accommodation and prices of campsites. To write this post I was inspired by the questions, what to take with you? How to prepare for such a 10-day trekking? What tent to take? How heavy was my backpack? Practical advice Tour du Mont Blanc is a multi-day trekking. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare…

Anaga Park and Punta de Hidalgo – Trekking in Tenerife
Anaga Park is a wonderful landscape area located in the north-east of Tenerife. It is an incredibly diverse and green place. Due to their location in the north of the island, the mountains retain heated evaporating water from the Atlantic Ocean, which accumulates in the mountains. Hence the heavy rainfall and wonderful greenery on the island! In addition, the Park has the largest number of endemic plant species per square kilometer in Europe. There is a lot to know 🙂 I just spent the first days in Tenerife visiting the Anaga Park. The starting point for trekking was the town of Punta de Hidalgo, which we can reach by bus 105…

Tenerife – what to see, practical information
Tenerife is the largest island in the Canary Islands archipelago, located in the Atlantic Ocean. It is here that the highest peak in Spain – Teide – a volcano measuring 3718m above sea level is located. The island is inhabited by about 900,000 people, and before the pandemic up to 17 million tourists came here every year! The island is quite large, but it’s hard for me to imagine such a number of people on an Atlantic island. Tenerife attracts tourists with its stable weather – almost all year round it is 20-22 degrees, and diversity (about which below). I went to Tenerife for the first time in November 2014,…

Masca – trekking through the Barranco de Masca in Tenerife
Barranco de Masca, or Masca Gorge and the town of Masca is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Tenerife. Or at least it was until it closed in 2018. Up to 800,000 tourists came here every year, making it the second most popular attraction, right after Mount Teide. The gorge was formerly a place used by pirates as a hiding place. Amazing views await us in the Mask. High walls, narrow passages and a beautiful beach at the end of the route. The Masca Gorge, after more than 3 years of closure, was reopened to tourists on March 27, 2021. The gorge was closed due to a large…

Yoga Teacher Training Course in Goa, India
In the fall of 2019, I went to Goa in India for a Yoga Teacher Training Course (YTTC). My adventure with yoga began several years ago. I went to the course to learn the basics of teaching and to be able to pass this knowledge on to 🙂 Choosing a school I chose a school in India to learn this knowledge at the source. My school was Shiva Shakti Yoga. To choose a specific facility helped me its commands and specific location – on the shores of the Arabian Sea in Goa. Thanks to this, I was awakened by the sound of the sea every day, during the lunch break…

Myanmar – What to See, Kalaw, trekking to Inle Lake, Hsipaw
Myanmar? What is this country? Myanmar or Burma? These are the first questions that usually arise when we hear about Myanmar. Before I traveled to Asia, I didn’t know much about this country. I didn’t even plan to go there too much. However, fate worked and on the plane from Singapore to Cambodia I met a couple of Poles who traveled to Asia for many years and in their opinion Myanmar is one of the most beautiful and interesting countries to visit. For an hour they told me about the magnificence of Myanmar and when I landed in Cambodia I knew that I would then go west to Burma via…

Hpa An in Myanmar, Mount Zwegabin and Taung Wine
Hpa An is a small town located in central Myanmar. At the beginning I planned to mention it as part of the whole trip around Burma, but the city is so interesting and offers so many attractions that quite a lot of material to describe came out of it. That is why I invite you to read here about a very interesting tourist town. Hpa An The first city in Myanmar where I stayed was Hpa-An in the Karev region. This is quite a touristy (for Burma) town – we will find here several hotels and guesthouses. It is also a city visited by local tourists, mainly due to the…

Seoul for the weekend – what to see in Seoul
Seoul is the capital of South Korea, one of the fastest growing cities in the world. I went to Seoul on a weekend trip while working in China in the city of Dalian. I was mainly interested in seeing the border with North Korea and learning about the history of these two feuding countries. DMZ, i.e. to the border with North Korea On the first day, I go on a trip to the demilitarized zone of South Korea with North Korea. I did not plan to visit it on my own and in the evening after arriving in Seoul I bought a tour in a group in one of the…
